Staying compliant with the FMCSA Clearinghouse isn't optional—it’s required. Yet, many carriers (especially new ones) make costly mistakes that could result in fines, audits, or being pulled off the road.
Whether you're a fleet owner or an independent operator, avoiding these 3 common pitfalls will keep you compliant, protect your authority, and save you thousands.
Every driver must be screened in the FMCSA Clearinghouse before they’re hired. Carriers often skip this step or don't know how to do it, putting them in violation of FMCSA regs.
Fix: Before hiring any CDL driver, log into the FMCSA Clearinghouse and run a full pre-employment query. You'll need a signed consent form from the driver.
